Wellness Examinations
We believe that it is vital to your pet's long-term health to have a physical examination every year. During this examination, we will look for any abnormal physical findings which may indicate early-stage disease. We will also discuss your pet's health with you, and make personalized recommendations for your pet. This is the ideal time to discuss any health problems or changes you have noticed in your pet.
Pets are very good at hiding signs of illness until very late in the disease. This is natural to them, but does not promote good health and longevity. We need to find the early signs of disease so that we can start early treatment, or recommend preventative changes that will prolong your pet's life.
While annual visits to the veterinarian used to be about getting "shots", visits are now geared more toward the physical exam and preventative health care. Vaccinations, while necessary, are no longer the main focus. Because it's not just about vaccinations, we still recommend annual visits for pets who don't go outdoors, including cats and small dogs. We will make individualized health care recommendations based on your pet's current and past health status.
We encourage you to learn as much as possible about your pet's health and medical conditions. Please use our educational library to learn more, check out the links pages for more information, and ask us questions at any time. We would be more than happy to speak with you about your pet's health, prescriptions, or other veterinary-related topics.
