Tonya Young

Tonya Young
Registered Veterinary Technician
A Quad City native, Tonya received her Registered Veterinary Technician degree from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids after attending Scott Community College for 2 years. Tonya likes boating with friends and spending time with her husband Tim and their two children Owen and Olivia. She also has two dogs, shown here. Tonya has been a technician at Scott County Animal Hospital since 1998.


Kristal Willie

Registered Veterinary Technician
Kristal received her Registered Veterinary Technician degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2007. She is originally from Manchester, Iowa, where she was active in 4-H and FFA. Kristal and her fiancé Dean live on a hog farm near Eldridge. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, fishing, and helping on the farm. Kristal has been at Scott County Animal Hospital since 2007.



Andres Arana

Andrés Arana
Veterinary Assistant
Andrés joined our staff in 2006 as a Veterinary Assistant. He is originally from Sucre, Bolivia. Andrés and his wife Darlene live in Eldridge with their two children, Jakob and Rebekah. He graduated from veterinary school in Bolivia, and has worked in the past for the Red Cross, for World Concern, and as a State Veterinarian in Bolivia. Andrés is shown with his dog Waira.





Kara Curtis 
Veterinary Assistant
Kara joined our staff in August 2009 following her graduation from Kirkwood College's Veterinary Assistant program.  Prior to that, she completed two associate degrees at Clinton Community College.  She lives in Lost Nation with her collection of pets, including 3 dogs and a cat.  In her spare time, Kara enjoys music, dancing, writing, and walking her dogs.  She's also a super-fast "texter" on her cell phone!



Lori Brownson

Office Manager
Lori joined the team in 2004. She is a Quad Cities native, growing up on the family farm near Blue Grass, but now living in Eldridge. She previously owned/operated Dew Kist Acres, raising strawberries, asparagus, mums and asters. She has 2 horses and 4 dogs, two of which are shown in her photo. She also has 2 grown daughters and one adorable grandson. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and gardening.


Ashley Burge

Receptionist
Ashley came to our clinic in 2008. Native to the Quad City area, Ashley most enjoys being with her daughter Keira. She has one cat, Edward, shown here, but looks forward to adding more 4-legged friends to their family in the future. She is excited to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine at our practice. When not at work, Ashley enjoys reading, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.


Shirley Lee
Shirley Lee
Professional Groomer
Shirley was a pet groomer for 25 years, the last 5 of which were at Scott County Animal Hospital. Shirley worked for us as a Veterinary Assistant from 2005 to 2009. She has decided to go back to grooming, and works for us part-time as a groomer. She is involved with the Quad Cities Greyhound Rescue, disability assistance dog training, and the Scott County Kennel Club. In her spare time, Shirley enjoys spending time with her family and collection of animals, two of which are shown here, on her acreage in LeClaire.
