Ann M. Sampson, DVM
Dr. Sampson joined Scott County Animal Hospital in 1994, moving to the Quad Cities from Ames, IA. She was born and raised in northwest Iowa. Her interest in animals began young at the age of 6, when she told her parents she wished to become a veterinarian. Dr. Sampson earned a BS in English from Iowa State University and then went on to attain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State in 1992. Since that time, she has had the opportunity to work on many dogs and cats as well as the occasional hamster, gerbil, rat, chinchilla and guinea pig. Dr. Sampson is the proud owner of a yellow lab named O'Malley, and two cats, Chamois and Minnie Pearl. She enjoys hiking, fishing, and time with her family (both the 2-legged and 4-legged kinds). She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
David C. Eaton, DVM
Dr. Eaton joined Scott County Animal Hospital in 2000. He grew up in Sidney, Iowa, which is in the extreme southwest corner of the state near Nebraska and Missouri. In his youth, Dr. Eaton enjoyed participating in high school sports such as wrestling, football, and rodeo, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather. Armed with a stong interest in veterinary medicine, he attended Iowa State University, where after 4 years of preveterinary education and 4 years in veterinary school, he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990. While at Iowa State, he married his wife Pamela, a clinical dietician, in 1989. He spent the next 10 years in rural mixed practice in Stuart (near Des Moines) and in his home town of Sidney. Dr. Eaton still enjoys waterfowl hunting and walleye fishing with his wife and two sons, Wyatt and Cordell, and his black Lab named Sky. Dr. Eaton is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, and American Association of Equine Practitioners.
Jennifer M. Ewoldt, DVM MS DACVS
Dr. Ewoldt joined the practice in 2005. She originally hails from Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island. Despite being born in the suburbs, she aspired to be a large animal veterinarian from age 8. After obtaining a B.Sc.(Agr) in Animal Science from the University of Guelph in 1994, she completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Prince Edward Island in 1998. She then completed a large animal internship at the Iowa State University in 1999, and a Large Animal Surgery residency at The Ohio State University in 2002. In 2005, Dr. Ewoldt passed the board exams to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Ewoldt's main interests are horses and cattle, but she also works with small animals, sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas, among others. She farms near Blue Grass with her husband Robb, a Quad Cities native. They have beef cattle and horses, as well as a hay, grain crop, and custom farming business on the family farms. In her spare time, Dr. Ewoldt enjoys riding and checking cows on horseback, participating in ranch rodeos, and working in her garden. Dr. Ewoldt has two boys, Alexander and Isaac, and a small dog named Josie. Dr. Ewoldt is a member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and American Association of Bovine Practitioners. |
